Membrane Filtration
Alfa Laval has extensive expertise in membrane filtration and offers all the parts needed to set up a membrane filtration process line in highly hygienic applications: membranes, spirally wound, flat membranes or combinations, in housings or in plate-and-frame configurations, as well as LabStak™ modules and laboratory/pilot plants.
Alfa Laval Membrane Filtration
Membrane filtration can be successfully used for processes such as concentration and purification, clarification and fractionation, extraction, product recycling and recovery, and product and wastewater quality improvement. Different membranes cover all cross-flow filtration processes, from microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF) to reverse osmosis (RO). Resistant to high temperatures and pH values. All materials comply with EU regulations Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, 10/2011, (EC) 2023/2006 and are FDA (CFR) compliant.

Flat membranes
Alfa Laval manufactures polymer membranes that are available by the metre, standard sheet or cut to size for Alfa Laval plate and frame modules for MF, NF, RO and UF applications.
Spiral membranes
Alfa Laval's hygienic spiral membranes are available for all cross-flow filtration applications in various combinations of membrane, diameter, length and spacers.
Plate and rack modules
System modules for membrane filtration. The open design is suitable for almost any viscosity and even suspended solids. Hygienic design for high product purity and cleaning.
